Sports Medicine, Fellowship trained and board certified

After conducting cardiology research at Harvard, Dr. Otten began his medical career at Michigan State University. In 2010 he completed his Fellowship in Sports Medicine at Beaumont Hospital in Detroit, Michigan associated with the Detroit Lions. He returned to Las Vegas to join Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine and has been an active member of the Las Vegas community since. His aptitude for giving back to the community has extended to teaching medical students and medical residents, as well as being the team physician for Bishop Gorman. Dr. Otten has been an Associate Professor of Sports Medicine since graduating from his fellowship. He has built a practice and reputation as one of the premiere physicians educated in and performing cutting edge treatments.

Dr. Otten has been a leader in the field of Orthobiologics since completing his sports medicine fellowship in Detroit, Michigan. Othrobiologics is the field of medicine and orthopedics which includes stem cell therapies and other minimally invasive procedures using the bodies own ability to heal itself. He is widely regarded as the leader amongst the field of Stem Cells therapy and platelet rich plasma therapy not only locally but nationally. He continues to sit on faculty for international conferences, train physicians, lecture and perform clinical research to advance the field. Dr. Otten’s approach to medicine was founded with his work and experiences with the Native Americans he worked with when he was a young man. He believes in the body’s ability to heal itself. His clinical work reflects his dedication to his patients. Dr. Otten has performed over 7,000 specialized therapies including stem cell injections and platelet rich plasma therapies.

Dr. Otten has been involved in multiple of clinical trials and has lectured thought the United States on the developing field of Orthobiologics, including the newest stem cell therapies. He continues to be on teaching faculty for many of the premier national and international conferences that take place locally.

Dr. Otten has an extensive background in sports and athletics. He remains an avid fly fisherman, surfer, skier and rock climber. He was the team captain of the University of Oregon Rugby team and a ski instructor at Alpine Meadows/Squaw Valley. His professional career has focused on his patients remaining active and healthy. His weekends outside of his practice including working events such as the Hurley Pro Surfing competitions, NFL football events, alpine skiing competitions, MMA Events and others, such as the Billboard Music Awards and Country Music Awards.
